Hanging out

Cali relaxing on the couch. I was cracking up at the way her legs are sprawled around the cushion. This is her new favorite spot to lay.
Cutie picture of Nathan playing with his toys.

Kylee looking over the railing. She is getting so big!

Tour of the World

Yesterday Kylee and Nathan along with their school mates presented the Tour of the World. They had to each prepare projects for their classes country. Kylee did her project on Israel in Asia. She had to create a tri-fold poster board about Israel as well as an A-Z informational book on Israel. It was a three week long project. Her teacher was so impressed with her poster that she asked to keep it! Of course my scrapbooking supplies helped a little:-) Nathan did his project on the Deserts of Arizona. He had to pick an animal from the Sonoran Desert to write a report on and prepare a habitat. He picked the roadrunner. He had a lot of fun with it.
Here is Kylee typing away. She is working on one of her letters for Israel.

The completed poster board. Kylee did a great job with the information on Israel as well as the pictures she chose to add to her poster board. I think this was her favorite part of the project.

Here is Nathan's roadrunner project. You can see the roadrunner in dark gray towards the bottom of the habitat. To the left of it is a coyote and to the right in the back is a javelina. It is hard to see but he drew the picture in the background all by himself. I showed it in a previous blog. He went in the backyard and picked some weeds and gathered some authentic desert dirt as well as some rocks to make the habitat.

Here is the Earth Balloon that the kids spent this week learning about. There is a company that rents these gigantic 19 foot tall balloons that teach the kids about the earth. They were actually able to go inside of it and see the earth from the inside. Kylee said it made her dizzy. The PTO for our school paid for the balloon and our principle was super generous and paid for the deposit. Fortunately the Earth Balloon made it back to the company in one piece:-)

Here are the kids holding up the earth. Nathan's cheeks are painted with African markings from when he went to visit the 5th graders version of Africa.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day we went shopping for a new bed for Scott and me. After a few bed stores we stopped for lunch at YC's Mongolian BBQ. One of the kids and my favorites! Daddy graciously agreed to go there. Afterwards we ended up finding our first king sized pillowtop mattress at The Dump. It was a great Mother's Day/Anniversary present for us!

Nathan of course being an "Angel" Can you see the halo?

Kylee was such a sweatheart hugging and kissing mom all day.

Cousins and Sisters

When Tiffany, her girls, Jace and mom came out last July mom took this picture of all of us. We had a lot of fun with them here.

New sofa upstairs

Tiff you asked about what we put upstairs. We got this red sofa from Gail and put it in the loft upstairs so we moved the loft furniture into the extra room downstairs. The pic is pretty dark...sorry.

Nathan's kinder fun

About two months ago Nathan told me that he learned about Smokey the Bear at school. He was so excited to bring home his Smokey that he made. Today he finally got to. So I got him on film singing the Smokey song, so cute. He absolutely loves to sing. He makes up songs all the time.

Here is Nathan's drawing of the desert. He knows the names of all the plants and the animals. He called the one between the cacti a wolf and then a diamond back snake in the dirt and a javelina in the bottom left, I didn't have the heart to tell him that a javelina looks like a pig.

Chocolate Bunnies

Grandma got each kiddo a one lb chocolate bunny for Easter. They are still working at eating them since mom and dad only let them have a few bites at a time.

Date Day ~ Scott's choice

Scott and I went out on a date. Scott got to pick, so we ended up going out into the desert by our house and shooting his handguns. It was actually really fun for us.

Kino kids fort

Kylee and Nathan used every blanket in our house as well as almost all of our dining chairs to create this huge fort. They each had their own room, and a living room as well as a dinning room. This took up most of our extra room and I think it drove Scott crazy! We let them sleep in it one night. I was surprised Nathan actually made it half way through the night.
View from above of the fort.
Kylee sleeping in their fort. She decorated it with pictures and her Easter bunny from grandma.

Nathan passed out in his little room.

Figuring it all out

So I have decided to start a blog, now I am trying to figure it all out. I would like to find a fun layout. Time to do some research!
