Easter Weekend

Although Easter was a long time ago I thought I should post some pictures of our fun Easter weekend. Our friends Jim and Lisa, and their two boys Jake and Justin came into town for the holiday. We spent Saturday hanging out with them at the community Easter Egg Hunt and at Leaf and Feather Nursery. The kids had a great time hunting (just picking up) eggs and playing in the jump houses. I think their favorite part was the petting zoo with the baby chicks. Afterward we went over to Leaf and Feather and visited with the birds and the monkey, who was not on his best behavior! Here are some pictures of our day...

Here is Nathan, with Justin in the background, collecting eggs. They each got ten eggs that they traded in for a bag of candy.

Here is the crew all together with the Easter Bunny. From left to right Kylee, Lauren, Nathan, Justin and Jake (we missed Peter). As you can see Jake was a little nervous sitting by the bunny...hehe.
Kylee loving on the baby chick. She has such a way with animals it is amazing. I tell you Ash and Cali LOVE her. They sleep with her every night.

Oh my so cute! Here is Justin and Nathan heading into the petting zoo. Such cute friends.

Arms still around Nathan as they love on the baby chick.

I guess they thought the chick was tired of walking and put him on the back of the goat for a ride.

Here is Kylee and Jake eating fun dip and being utterly goofy. They are so cute together and have so much fun making each other laugh.

Now they are at Leaf and Feather visiting the cow and baby Brahma. The Brahma loves attention, which the kiddos didn't mind giving.

Itchies Itchies

On Easter Sunday the kids were able to make colored eggs and Easter themed sugar cookies. They really enjoyed it, and so did I. They were really creative with the way the dyed the eggs and made stripes on the Easter egg cookies. Here are some pictures from Easter Sunday.

Kylee and Nathan dying eggs.

I love Nathans tiny hand in this picture.

Decorating cookies. That is a sugar induced smile Nathan is sporting. Kylee is concentrating really hard on her decorating. It paid off because her cookies were beautiful.

The Easter Bunny has a hard job in Arizona with it being so hot. If you look closely you can see that the chocolate bunnies are a little melted in the head and ears region...oops. It was very warm weekend. Poor bunny tried his best.

Here is Nathan in the outfit the Easter Bunny brought playing with Kona. Nathan takes advantage of her being still while she is chewing on a toy and he loves all over her.

We Are Warriors

Today Scott, myself, Traci and Tim took part in the 2011 Warrior Dash out in Florence. I will say we had a blast. The people watching was crazy enterntaining. Lots of uniquely dressed people, and men in speedos, or thongs covered in spikes...really did they think they looked good walking out of the house this morning? It was a 3.4 mile run (walk:-)) with 12 different obstacles, such as climbing over cars, cargo nets, climbing down a rope wall, up and over a rope wall, and climbing over hay bails. Oh need I forget the jumping over fire and army crawling through a mud pit! I am very proud of us, we made it through everything and had a great time doing it. Here are some photos of our day.

Ah look how nice and clean we are. If you look closely you can see Sione from Biggest Loser in the background.
Here is the cargo net wall we had to climb and go over and then back down.

Here is are the hay bails that we had to climb up and go over. The going up wasn't too bad but coming down was all tore up so it was a little harder.

I must say the following pictures are of just Traci and I because Scott and Tim finished the race just a little bit before us and were able to come take some great photos of us playing in the mud.

Here we are going into the mud pit. I was trying to go in gracefully but then it got really deep as you can see Traci has already sunk in.

Here wer are army crawling our way through...we can do it!

This picture is classic because I am telling Traci she can get up and she says she can't because our shirts had stretched out so far that hers was no longer covering her chest. So funny. Gotta love to "Ohhh" expression on my face.

We made it out, covered in mud! Next we went to get hosed of by fire hoses that practically knocked us over because of how powerful they were. It only helped the surface mud, not all the mud tucked away:)

Traci and Tim after the race. We really did have a great time.

Scott and myself after the race. Scott looked too clean so Traci and I helped him out and added a little more mud on him...hehe.

He didn't need any help with is shoes, you can see how muddy they are. Traci and I donated our muddy shoes to a charity collecting them on the way out. Great idea in theory until I had to walk through a rocky parking lot barefoot. I cannot wait for Warrior Dash 2012!! Surprise!!! We are going to Disneyland!!!

We told the kids a little bit of a lie, we said we were going to San Diego. Kylee has always wanted to be that little girl in the commercials that gets a surprise trip to Disneyland, so we had to comply. Right before we picked the kids up from school the day we were leaving, we set up the house with a scavenger hunt. Scott and I tied ribbon going from the front door, winding up the staircase, through the loft, master bedroom, out onto the upstairs patio and over, then through the dining room door and into the living room. Scott made cute little notes for them to read along the way. Here we go...

Here are the pictures we took of the scavenger hunt as we set it up.

We made a little package for each of them to open with a mickey mouse and a Disneyland t-shirt. They were the prize at the end of the scavenger hunt.
Once we pulled in the garage the kids saw the note on the door and seemed pretty excited to see what was going on.
Up the staircase...
They just saw the ribbon go down over the banister and figured out they needed to go back inside and downstairs then outside to find out where to go next.
Finally they found their way into the living room and got their prizes.
Kylee was so excited! At first they didn't realize we were going that day, they still thought we were going to San Diego. This picture was taken when I told her we were going right then.
Mickey and Nathan ready to go.
Mickey and Kylee ready to go.
Our surprise was a success, they had no idea!!

Huntington Beach the first stop on our adventure.

Our first day in Anaheim we went to Huntington Beach to relax and enjoy the beautiful ocean. The ocean is one of our favorite places to be.

Sarah and Kylee loaded up and ready to go swimming.

Catie and Nathan. I can't believe she was able to carry him around so much. He was in heaven. Such a cutie picture of Kylee. It was in the low 60's I was shocked they all got in the water to swim. Crazy!
Nathan pointing out all the sea shells.
He loved collecting the shells, mom and I had our hands full.
Kylee and Catie
Ah such a hottie.
Our little family.
Our traditional self portrait. Love the ocean in the background.
Me and Sarah.
Sarah Kylee and Catie doing cartwheels. They had a ton of fun.
Jace playing football with Uncle Scott.
I love this picture. Not only does Scott look great;) he also looks super happy. This is right before the kids kicked the parents hind ends at a game of football.

Medieval Times Dinner and Show

We all went out to a great dinner at Medieval Times Dinner Theater. The kids loved watching the horses and the knights, I loved watching their faces light up. Dinner was actually really good too.

Everyone waiting in line to get inside. Such a great picture. Kylee and Nathan with the knights stick thingies
Scott and I inside the castle.
Scott really wanted a beer, $25!! Oh my gosh.
Kiddos wearing their green crowns and ready to go into the show.
Angie, Jim, Scott and me at the dinner table.
A picture of the show.
All the kiddos waiting for dinner to come.
I loved seeing Scott eating his dinner with his hand, they don't give you any silverware. If you know Scott you know this is not his style.
